About this talk

Legal & General’s latest research has revealed that, when going through a divorce, people aged over 50 are more than four-times as likely to take advice from their friends as they are from a financial adviser. While divorce can have a significant impact on future finances, just 3% seek financial advice. Although divorce rates are in decline among younger age groups, later life divorce is on the rise with one in four divorces occurring after the age of 50. Join Cecilia Furner, Strategic Account Director, Legal & General Retail Retirement Income as we share the latest consumer insights from Legal & General’s research into the trends, attitudes and behaviours of divorcing couples aged over 50 and what this might mean for your business and your clients. We’ll be joined by our expert panellists to discuss later life divorce, the impact on retirement planning, and the opportunity for advisers to provide invaluable support at this critical time. With most people consulting a solicitor when going through a divorce, we will also discuss the importance of building professional connections.
